The Bassment, since 2002, has been Chicagos only one stop shop that represents the essence of Hip Hop culture. Started by Shabazz former Dj turned entrepreneur, wanted create a fresh store that represented his love and passion for Hip Hop. From a hot new mixtape to a New Era Fitted, The Bassment represents the Chicago streets, the music and the culture.

You are out & about on a Friday night, making plans, cruisin’ the streets. You hear live music poundin’ from speakers nearby. You turn down the stereo & follow the sound. As you get closer, the music becomes intense, a line of people stretch around a nearby corner, and you hear the hum of bass rattling parked cars in the streets. Pop quiz: Where are you? You just hit the premier spot for fashion, music, & culture. The Bassment!

Walking into the store, you can feel the atmosphere fulla energy, where hundreds of well-known artists, from GURU to Twista, have exploded on the mic and tons of underground artists have made their start. Besides walls lined with autographed photos & graffiti murals, you won’t find another place stocked with the latest unreleased tracks, exclusive brands from all over the world, and a Friday line-up booked with deaf defying sessions. Since the beginning of 2002, we’ve been at the forefront of our scene, sponsoring events with affiliated organizations, laying the groundwork for underground artists, and bringing you meet and greets with international superstars. It’s true.

We’ve been dominating Chicago’s music scene with up to date culture sense, answering your hunger for Chicago hip hop, trendsetting fashion, old school mix tapes, art supplies, and much more. Having the pleasure to work with many great professionals and partners along the way, we’re not interested in only ENTERTAINING our fans but also EDUCATING them on some of the highlights in the life of The Bassment & artists taking stage. Here at The Bassment, we don’t talk big. We DO BIG. Real recognize, real. And we couldn't have done it without you.
